Tower Cottage
Tower Cottage was formerly part of Buckland Abbey, a Cistercian abbey owned to-day by the National Trust, but it is now a building in a privately owned mediaeval courtyard in the grounds of the Abbey.
The magnificent scenery of South-West Dartmoor offers walking, golf, fishing and riding, and there are National Trust walks through the surrounding countryside which can be joined from near the cottage. Being so near to the Cornish border, we are well placed for visiting a large number of NT houses and famous gardens in both Devon and Cornwall.
The market town of Tavistock is eight miles away; the weekly craft and antique market is fun for collectors, but most necessities can be found in Yelverton, three miles away, including meat, fish, fruit and veg. and a Post Office. The village P.O. at Crapstone (1 mile) has excellent bread. There are good local pubs in both Milton Combe (Who’d a Thought It) and Buckland Monachorum (The Drake Manor), both less than a mile away.

Moorlands Cottage
The cottage, built and inhabited by the owner’s family for three generations, was a small Dartmoor farmhouse. It nestles in the valley between the granite crowned Belstone Tor and Cawsand Beacon. The River Taw borders the cottage’s ten acres of grounds which are available for holiday makers to explore and enjoy.
The cottage was carefully renovated in the early 1990’s with double glazed windows, enlarged tiled bathroom and oak kitchen. To compliment the open fireplace in the Living Room, electric night storage heaters have been installed to keep it warm during the colder months. There is a small cobbled forecourt, ample parking and a garden overlooking the paddock that leads down to the river.
Many places of great interest and beauty in the Dartmoor National Park are only a short drive away. Lydford Gorge (National Trust), Fingle Bridge, Meldon Reservoir, Castle Drogo and Haytor Rocks to name but a few. Additionally there are many prehistoric remains on the moor - stone circles, cairns and standing stones. Okehampton, the central country town of Devon is just 4 miles away with Norman Castle, swimming pool, tennis courts, museum. Tourist Information Office etc.

Wood Bank Lodge - Fisherground Farm
1 Cottage & 3 Lodges - Fellside Cottage and Beckfoot Cottage are situated on Fisherground Farm. Both face South and have lovely areas to sit out and enjoy the sun, and of course you can park right beside your cottage. Even in the depths of winter the cottages are warm and snug, with an open fire in Eskdale granite fireplaces, and electric panel heaters throughout. Both cottages share the laundry, sports hall, games room and adventure playground with the Pine Lodges.
The three Pine Lodges, Barn Garth, Field End and Wood Bank, share the acre of orchard with the ancient apple trees and the stream that opens out to the raft pool and with Beckfoot Cottage.
