With origins over 500 years old in part, once a single storey crofters cottage, The Angel Inn at Hetton in North Yorkshire probably received its licence to brew and serve beer to passing cattle drovers in the early 18th century. It has been rebuilt and extended, but unlike so many 'contrived' country pubs, it has retained many of its original features. It has become a place to enjoy the finest of food, good real ales and a wine list of extraordinary length and surprising value.
