Moreton-in-Marsh is a small town situated in the North Cotswolds and in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A feature of all the Cotswolds towns and village is the honey coloured stone buildings. In Moreton-in-Marsh these can be seen on either side of the wide, tree-lined road through the town.
There is a good range of shopping facilities, good hotels, pubs and restaurants and the beautiful Cotswolds are on the doorstep, making it an excellent centre for a holiday. The busy market every Tuesday, originates from 1637 when King Charles I granted a charter for the market.
There are many National Trust Properties in the area and pretty villages close by. Other places worth a visit include Stratford upon Avon (Shakespeare's birthplace), Blenheim Palace, Oxford, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Sudeley Castle and Cotswold Wildlife Park.
