They take food seriously at this country pub set in a quiet village not far from York, and it's apparent as soon as you walk in. The restaurant, with beamed roof, stone floor, white table cloths, gleaming glasses and evening candles is striking. The Three Hares level of cuisine and hospitality surpassed Les Routiers entry standards and so they were awarded as North East Inn of the Year in 2001 after recommendations from both Les Routiers independant assessment team and members of the public.
